Notice Regarding Relocation of Bankruptcy Clerk’s Office and Bankruptcy Judges’ Chambers, and Information Regarding Public Counter Accessibility and Courtroom Hearings (including VTC hearings between Des Moines and Davenport and between Des Moines and Council Bluffs).
The Bankruptcy Clerk’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa and Bankruptcy Judges’ Chambers have completed the move from the former U.S. Courthouse Annex at 110 East Court Avenue to the new U.S. Courthouse at 111 Locust Street. Due to the new courthouse not being open to the general public as of this date, the public intake counter remains temporarily closed, A lock box continues to be located at the 111 Locust Street Entry Control Point. Court Security Officers are on site and will contact Clerk’s Office staff if assistance is needed with court filings. Service by phone remains an option. Due to the Chief District Judge directing no courtroom hearings be conducted at the new site until further notice, continuances or cancellations of bankruptcy courtroom hearings scheduled to be conducted at the new location are being addressed in docket text orders entered in the related chapter cases and adversary proceedings prior to the dates of those hearings. Please check this site for updated intake and courtroom hearing information as it becomes available.
