Preparing Documents for E-Filing

1.  File all documents with a signature line containing the following:  /s/ Name of Attorney and/or Debtor.  The signature can also be a scanned signature.

Examples:

/s/ John J. Smith            ______________         /s/                      

                                   /s/ John J. Smith             John J. Smith

2.  Original signatures must be on the original paper document and must be retained in the attorney’s office until the Appellate period expires.

3.  File all motions with a Certificate of Service listing the names and addresses of all parties served.  Click here for sample of Certificate of Service.  There are exceptions for motions filed by the Trustee/US Trustee.  Refer to the motion event to determine if a Certificate of Service is required.

4.  When filing any document ALWAYS redact the social security number (only enter last 4 digits xxx-xx-1111).

5.  All documents filed in CM/ECF must be in PDF format, with the exception of the List of Creditors (list of creditors).  The List of Creditors must be saved in a .txt file.
