Add the Creditor; Search for Party

Note:  Use this to search for the creditor and add them as a party to the case.  Do not create a new party if the creditor name appears after the search.

1.  The Search for a party screen appears.

• Enter social security number or tax identification number or last, first and middle name to search for the creditor’s name in the CM/ECF database.

2.  The Party Search Results appears.

• Creditor name appears:

  • Select name and verify party name information in pop-up window.

  • Select name from the list button.

  • Complete or update all appropriate fields for the party filer.

  • Click here for instructions on adding a party with a foreign address.

  • Select appropriate Role for the party: Creditor (cr:cr).

  • Click Submit.

  • Select the party from the pick list.

• Creditor name does NOT appear:

  • Click on Create New Party.

  • The Party Information Screen appears.

  • Complete or update all appropriate fields for the party filer.

  • Click here for instructions on adding a party with a foreign address.

  • Select appropriate Role for the new party: Creditor (cr:cr).

  • Click Submit.

  • Select the party from the pick list.
