Do not include a copy of the document you wish to seal. Describe the document and explain why it should be sealed. The motion and related order are not automatically sealed. The order granting the motion will give permission to efile using either the Sealed Document or Sealed Motion event which include functionality to seal the document upon filing. |
1. Select Bankruptcy or Adversary menu.
2. Select Motions/Applications.
3. Enter case number.
4. Ensure correct case number.
5. Select Docket Event: Seal—Motion to
6. Click the check box joint filing with other attorney(s).
7. Select party filer:
Party not listed, Add/Create New Party.
8. Browse and select document (PDF file) or scan document.
Attach supportive document, required.
9. Click “Refer to existing events?” if you are requesting to seal an item already on the docket.
If you select this check box, a new screen appears from which you select the category to which your event relates.
Choose the category.
Click the checkbox next to the docket item you are requesting to seal.
10. Verify final docket text before submitting onto the case docket.
11. Review the Notice of Electronic Filing. It is your receipt.
