External filers other than creditors use this docket event to withdraw a claim, satisfy a claim, withdraw a duplicate claim, or withdraw a claim filed in an incorrect case.
You can also docket an Amended Claim and enter the amount of "0" dollars to satisfy the claim.
Make sure you know the claim number before docketing this event.
Important: Docket each withdrawal of claim as a separate docket event!
1. Select Bankruptcy menu.
2. Select Motions/Applications.
3. Enter case number.
4. Ensure correct case name and number match the document you are filing.
5. Select Docket Event: Notice of Withdrawal of Claim.
6. Check box if joint filing with another attorney.
7. Select party filer.
Party filer not listed, Add/Create New Party.
8. Browse, verify and attach the document (PDF file).
Attach supportive documents, if applicable.
The following display message appears on the screen:
WITHDRAWALS OF CLAIMS MUST BE FILED INDIVIDUALLY. DOCKET EACH WITHDRAWAL OF CLAIM AS A SEPARATE DOCKET EVENT.
9. Select claim you are withdrawing from the list of claims.
Once you select the claim, the number of the claim appears in the Claims Selected box.
Click the Creditor name or Claim # column header to sort the creditor list.
10. Verify the final docket text before submitting onto case docket.
11. Review the Notice of Electronic Filing. It is your receipt.
The court prepares the Notice of Bar Date and serves the Notice of Bar Date via the Bankruptcy Noticing Center.
Note: A Notice of Bar Date will not be prepared by the court if this event is used to satisfy a claim, withdraw a duplicate claim, or withdraw a claim filed in an incorrect case.
